Are you tired of the same old boring drills to get you warmed up before training? Well, we've partnered up with former England and Gloucester Rugby star, James Simpson-Daniel to bring you something a little bit different to get you moving and ready for the session ahead. Bringing together rugby and netball, this drill is all about working in tight spaces and focusing on teamwork. Easy to set-up, it allows players to improve their footwork, vision and offloading.
Set out a 10m x 10m square and form 2 teams of 5 players:
“As a coach you must have the confidence to tweak drills depending on the ability of players. If a drill is too hard then simplify numbers e.g. if the attackers are rarely scoring add a defender over in to attacking side.”
If you have a large group of players, you can have several games going on simultaneously. It’s always recommended to stretch and warm-up before any training and cool down afterwards.
